Optimal Energy is a partner on the team that won the first and second contracts with the Vermont Public Service Board to provide statewide efficiency services as Efficiency Vermont, the nation’s first energy efficiency "utility." Optimal continues to provide senior support on policy, commercial and industrial services, and business development under the three-year contract extension recently signed with the state of Vermont.
OEI has served as strategic and technical advisors on utility-run efficiency efforts for the Long Island Power Authority (since 1998); to a group of non-utility clients in Massachusetts (since 1999); to the Natural Resources Defense Council in the collaborative planning and delivery of statewide efficiency programs by New Jersey’s electric and gas utilities (in varying capacities since 1996).
Optimal is now estimating the efficiency potential and developing portfolio designs for a range of clients in North America, including government agencies, investor-owned utilities, and municipal utilities.
