Where We Work
Optimal has worked in over 40 states and 5 Canadian provinces. We also completed two major projects in China. Much of our work occurs close to our office locations in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast US and bordering Canadian provinces. We have also developed significant concentrations of work in the Southeast, Midwest, and the West Coast. In 2014, we were at work in five of the top ten states in the State Energy Efficiency Scorecard published by the American Council for an Energy Efficiency Economy.
Since our founding in 1996, Optimal has been at the forefront of some of the nation’s leading energy efficiency efforts. In the late 1990’s, Optimal was intimately involved with the creation of Efficiency Vermont, the nation’s first efficiency utility. Optimal was also a key resource for the state of Massachusetts in their early collaborative approach to developing industry-leading utility-administered programs. We continue to serve this role today, leading a team of consultants that guides a legislatively-empaneled council that oversees one of the most advanced efficiency efforts in the country. In 2012, Optimal opened a second office location in Providence, Rhode Island, and in 2013, Optimal’s main office relocated from Bristol to Hinesburg, Vermont.
